Primate safari lodge is located just in the hearts of Kibale National Park 100m adjacent to tourists briefing center in Kanyanchu which is 36 km from Fort portal and 5 hours’ drive from Kampala. Sounds of the Kibale gentle giants can easily be hard from the lodge peninsular. The lodge is both a luxury and a mid-range facility with hotel rooms, bandas and tents available in place. All of their nine spacious and en-suite Luxury Cottages, each secluded deep in the forest for maximum privacy and a natural ‘living in nature’ feel, come complete with 2x Double size Bed or 1x King Size Bed, a sitting area with two comfortable arm chairs, a reading table and an adjoining large veranda with excellent views to the forest. The seven mid-level Forest Cottages are private and en-suite with spacious bathrooms, 2x Twin size Beds or 1x King Size Bed as well as a spacious veranda over-looking the rain-forest with lounge chairs.

The popular double storied ‘Elephant Banda’ has an upstairs bedroom fitted with a giant King size Bed and a downstairs living room where we can also place a smaller extra bed. As a double occupancy, it is very popular with honeymooners, anniversaries and the ‘hopeless romantics’ who can also enjoy private lounging and dining at the extensive upstairs veranda that seems to go right into the forest.

For our adventurous at heart, they offer a secluded Sky Tree House (not self-contained) about 200m deep in the forest. Hang upon a gigantic tree and elevated about 10m above the ground overlooking an elephant meadow, it enjoys excellent views over the forest canopy and is regularly visited by black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, forest elephants, even chimpanzee at times. Her one bedroom comes fitted with a single size bunk bed providing comfortable sleeping for maximum two persons on separate beds.

Guests dine and refresh at the main lodge dining room and need to be escorted to/from the Tree House before dusk and after day break. They also have an adjacent camp site as well as a take away restaurant for convenience but please remember to bring along your own camping gear.

Other lodge amenities include a spacious dining terrace, a well-stocked bar, complimentary room service, a secluded lounge area with a small library, an evening camp fire, laundry service (at a small fee) as well as free WiFi in the public areas.
