Kanyanchu Visitor Center is located within the park and is 10km away from the Kibale National park headquarter (Isunga), 32km from Fort Portal and it is the main center for tourist activities of Kibale National Park. The center can easily be reached by the road from Fort Port which is well tarmac up to Ibanda and Kamwengye town. The visitor center is just 100 meters from the main road, and you can see a statue of a sheltered chimpanzee as a sign.

All tourism activities are done here, and all park guides assemble here every morning ready to handle the clients for their day’s activities. The Kanyanchu Visitor’s Center, is under the leadership of the chief Tourism Ward who is followed under the leadership of the head guide. All rangers’ guides are centered in this area. However, payment for any park activities are done in the park headquarters in Kampala or at Isunga, here receipts or cards for confirmation for payment is being represented. The tourists also have to register before any activity is under taken. All the park briefing for any park activity is as well done here after you being assigned the guide, for your days’ activity. The tourists, all assemble in the common room, for a general briefing from a ranger guide before they are allocated a specific group and guide for their trekking.

Chimpanzee, Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Red Tailed Monkeys, L’hoest’s monkey and Baboons are all often spotted in the surrounding forest, and often visit the center, and lucky visitors, always spot them. A variety of birds can be seen on the trails, calling on the guide expertise to spot them in the dense forest canopy. Guided walks are available; morning walks are the most fruitful, also afternoon walks are also popular and night walks offer sightings of nocturnal primates. Whole or half hikes may be arranged, with long distance trekking plans for future.

Kanyanchu enjoys a mild and comfortable climate all year round and can be quite cold at night. Those intending to camp, there is a camping ground, with water supply and toilet facility, tents can be hired or bring own tent.

Kanyanchu Visitor Center has a gift shop, which do sale some souvenirs to tourists. Art and craft materials are available on sale as well as the t-shirts.
